Yes, I forgot to mention that was the step I missed and you had covered it. Was a total mistake on my part from lack of sleep and trying to cram too much into one day.

You should ping them for their setup. It's a really nice big outdoor area.

JCLiger275342 I’m just so happy it still works great for us. High level overview ….

Install Rec Room on each Station
Create a userid unique to each Station … VR.Station1, VR.Station2, etc
Start Rec Room on each station. Log in with the particular user for that station.
In the game, FRIEND every station from every other station
Change the Launch Options in Steam to autologin with the VR.StationX profiles on each station ( +Profile:VR.Station1 +Mode:vr ) -
Test and make sure everyone can play together
Contact Rec Room support (support@againstgrav.com) and say - “I own an arcade and would like your VR Template” .. give them your account names and they will create a private lobby for the arcade and link everything together. They’ve done all the hard work. They will provide you a name for the room, for example, “VRArcadeHub”
Go back to the Steam Launch settings for Rec Room and add “+roomname:VRArcadeHub”
TEST - launch 3 or 4 stations and they should all autologin and drop into the Hub room and all be looking at each other and ready to play.

Let us know if it works, or anything that needs to be updated with these instructions. GOOD LUCK .. worth the time, especially with a $0.00/Min title :-)

JCLiger275342 The original post at the top has instructions for setting up shortcuts to the games.

Rec Room is updated once a week so it’s pretty hard to keep these instructions up to date (and I’m not going to try), but the basic principles still apply far as I know

thevrclub I had been trying to get this set up over the last few days when I have some time. I hit a wall for part of it. For the Rise of the Jumbotron, it won’t let me access the Permission’s tab in the watch while I’m on the account that created the Private Lobby of it. So I’ve got it set up for people to load into the doors for things like the 3D Charades just fine.

DigitalWorldsVR yeah that’s the devs not allowing it the general public to do that some reason, unless you email them and ask for the arcade style setup as others have suggested. Could be the better option at this point stead of a manual setup

thevrclub DigitalWorldsVR yeah, seriously don’t waste your time trying to create rooms. Let Rec Room support do it. Once they’ve built the big lobby, they also build sub rooms for all the popular Quests and games (tag, paintball, etc) … then you can create direct shortcuts like shown in the very top of this thread…

BUT, seriously, just use the lobby. When all the kids start at the same time they are dumped right in front of those doors and they instinctively know to follow each other into the game rooms… that is AFTER they’ve all freaked out that they can see and HEAR each other and pour water bottles on each other’s heads, and slap each other, and throw things at each other :-)

Scotthan Yup, just today. Got it set up in a forest looking place. Very cool. I get a prompt when selecting doors in the room asking about the last time it was saved but it doesn’t seem like it’s a problem, just a minor inconvenience.

Following. I’ve had a lot of success getting kids playing paintball and to a less extent laser tag. Likewise curious if there’s more options. Though once you have a room up be sure to add a bunch of prop toys: crossbows, guns, arrows, bowling etc. I’ve had kids spend a good quarter of their hour just playing in the lounge.

VR-ARRIVAL

For any of the arcades that have had RecRoom construct their lobby, do you have any problem with any of the games that they have included in the lobby? For us the Paintball doesn’t work in capture the flag mode, have to change it to team mode and for Disc Golf, the discs don’t appear when you start the game…

VR-ARRIVAL It’s a bug, the devs know about it because it’s been around (and fixed and broken again) for a couple years now. They might fix it again if you email them to ask
