I’ve just given notice on my lease, will be closing up permanently in early April. No new income as bookings have dropped off a cliff. It’s depressing.
Best of luck to you all, I hope some of us can pick up the pieces and carry the torch when this is all over

thevrclub very sorry to hear this. I hope that maybe something will change and you get a chance to reopen sometime in the future. I highly suspect we will be forced to shut down at some point but until we do, we are going to try to continue on. We have to do it this way as if we shut down now, without a government order, we can’t qualify for many of our vendor and loan company programs that will allow us to defer payments.

thevrclub Have you thought of pausing your services? Springboard and internet service, keep the bare bones of the lease for another month maybe? Not having all the information, I know it’s more difficult than it seems. Very sorry to hear this @thevrclub. You’ve been a great help to the community. If this really is the end of the road, I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Godspeed and please do take care! You shall be missed.

Our government here in NZ is doing a pretty good job supporting the economy they just announced a massive stimulus package this evening. So while I can’t afford to keep my retail premises I may not have to sell my equipment and will keep it in storage instead, and hopefully try to start again when this has all blown over.
Of course the situation seems to change on a daily basis!

thevrclub If you don’t have to sell your equipment you could start a mobile only business. Keeps your overhead low and market to corporate events, expo’s, conferences ect.

Nearbyplanetvr yeah I had thought of that too, will likely give it a try if I can settle my debts next month. Not conferences and expos though as large gatherings have been banned but possibly for at home birthdays?

The province declared a state of emergency today and all non-essential business were told to shut down. They are expecting it to be at least 2-3 weeks. It could be longer. Mobile units for us is not an option as that would be considered recreational so that wouldn’t be allowed either. 🙁 We knew it was a distinct possibility and our customers were happy that we were trying to stay open. We were actually getting a lot of reservations over the next week or two prior to the declaration. This really does suck for us. 🙁 I hope others will be able to manage.

OVPowerPlay That’s sucks, hopefully you can survive that 2-3 weeks and resume business after! Still best not to take chances with this virus, better to lose some income than get sick

Over here the government and banks are stepping in with loans, payment extensions and what not.

We are located in North Idaho. We have only seen 1 case in our county, those are growing. All of our reservations have pretty much dropped off. We have pushed heavily our cleaning routines on social media. We are now also offering buy one get one 75% off. Hopefully we will see something this weekend. Stay strong friends. We will get through it

Over here restaurants and bars are closed. Hotels are closing as well so expect a major dropoff if you haven’t already

As of today we will be closing down. All restaurants are closed except for take out, also most of the stores are closing today, so there will be no customer traffic in town for several weeks/ month as they are telling us now.We have no cases in our area yet but people are following the government guide lines.

What is crazy, apparently the “State of Emergency” was not as much of a hint for some businesses in Ontario to shut down. Welp as of 11:59pm tonight, ALL business will be forcibly shut down that is non-essential. Spring break was extended from 3 weeks now to 5 and more probably 7, which is going to extend shutdowns into May. 🙁 🙁

We are shut down to 6th of april but gatherings and events are banned until june. So it remains to be seen what happens IF we can open on the 6th.

We have a State of Emergency in Texas and we have been close for 2 weeks and looking like this is going to go for a while. We are just hoping for the best!
