I appreciate that .10/min US for us is painful (.13/min at current exchange rate) I was really excited for this game as we dont have any racing game right now and this looks super fun and 10 cents was a tough pill to swallow. I hope they keep it at 8. The way I see it .06 should be the base line for a finished game off of steam. 8 cents I dont mind if they took the time to make a specific arcade version with extra features especially if it makes our lives easier or brings customers in.

You going with standard Vive controllers? Any hardware?

I know the dev has stressed that it's best experienced with a simulator. The reason he will be offering it at $15/$150 for monthly yearly is to encourage arcades to make dedicated stations to the title.

just going to use standard controllers for now. Depending on popularity and performance we may consider hardware down the road. Right now I would rather focus on upgrading our headsets which improves the experience for all games rather than a peripheral that only works for one title

That is a great point!

Definitely keen to hear your opinion on the standard controllers and overall experience.

I have strong VR legs and acclimated to it pretty quick but can definitely see it not being the easiest thing in the world to pick up for everyone!

(Obviously simulators would change this dramatically though)

This game is a disaster with standard VR Vive controllers. It gives motion sickness to most of my customers with one handed driving (and the other grabbing power ups). I had two wheels set up with this and got universally bad responses. The game also resets front facing when it starts so if a headset is pointing sideways…. the car is driving sideways.
A major pain to get people in and out of multiplayer, plus they get sick and don’t have fun.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry to hear you aren’t enjoying Touring Karts! I will say that the developer has said that the game is meant to be experienced with a racing setup and is best when doing so.

In the game itself, I’m pretty sure it even notes that Vive controllers aren’t recommended. I have pretty strong VR legs so it didn’t take me long to get used to it but I can see new users having issues possibly…especially with using standard Vive controllers.

I have to agree with @aaronsawyer1 I was really looking forward to this game until I tried it. After 5 mins, it was a hard pass. The control scheme on the Vive is horrendous. Maybe with a proper driving rig it would be better but I’m not investing $1000s for just 1 game.

HunterLaneSBVR we have a full driving rig. it has Oculus Go level graphics and too many twists and turns for first-time customers. people get sick. plus it’s pretty hard to drive with one hand and hold a controller in the other. The game has potential but has poor execution

A new update will be addressing the motion sickness!

“We have made a completely new control panel to be able to launch the game much faster and with special options to reduce motion sickness. Among them for example, one that doubles the size of the tracks to avoid having tight curves that are difficult for novices to manage.”

Overall they are very committed to creating an amazing arcade product so keep that feedback coming!

I’ve emailed the developer as well, but I’m hoping that they get rid of the one handed driving as it’s something that seems like a good immersive solution, but people don’t like it.
Much better to use the shift paddles on the wheel to throw forward or backward
