Tower Tag is Coming to SpringboardVR!

Quick heads up!

Tower Tag is coming to the platform shortly and while **we are on a communication blackout*** , we got approval to send this ahead of a more public launch.

If you haven't heard about it, Tower Tag has taken Asia by storm, amassing millions of viewers, and packing arcades across the continent--and is quickly becoming one of the best VR e-sport titles available. We're excited to announce that it's now officially coming to the SpringboardVR platform!

Tower Tag Tournament

Dates and details are still being finalized, but Virtual Athletics League (VAL) will be hosting an international Tower Tag tournament in November, with a total prize pool of $2,000. We will provide more information over the next week or so, but if you are interested in connecting with Virtual Athletics League and registering for the tournament, please submit the VAL registration application linked below.

Why This is a Big Deal

Tower Tag is doing really ( really! ) well at locations around the world. More to share on this soon, but suffice to say it's one of the best performing titles we've seen.

It's also taken Asia by storm, amassing millions of viewers, and packing arcades across the continent--and is quickly rising to be among the best VR e-sport titles available. We strongly feel that Tower Tag could have the same impact in your VR Arcade, and other Arcades across the world.

Title Availability

We anticipate Tower Tag to be live on the SpringboardVR Marketplace and available to license some time next week. The official release date and price is still being finalized, but I can confirm that there will be a free period during the first few weeks post-launch!

*We are currently in a communication embargo. Meaning that our team and anyone reading this is not permitted to release marketing materials, blogs, or media assets before the public launch.

I've looked at VAL a bit and it seems all a bit convulsed. I haven't used Discord a lot but it seems everything is organized through Discord. I did get to sign up finally, (it didn't work yesterday) but the website is pretty sparse right now. I guess cause they are still finalizing things. Either way the game looks pretty cool and it would be very interesting to see if we could get a group together at our arcade, representing us in a tournament like this.

We have tested this game here in the past and can safely say this is going to be a huge hit for arcades. The only reason we didnt license directly from tower tag is the price tag was a huge flat rate monthly fee that we couldnt possibly justify. Their flat rate fee would be great for a high traffic location like a mall that had dedicated booths for JUST this game as many places in the UK and Asia do, but our business model works a lot better on the per minute scale. It would be nice to see options for flat rates once springboard starts offering that as an option. Maybe 6 months or a year down the road when this game becomes really well known and highly played it might make sense to make that jump. This should be a staple of every arcade out there.

I'm guessing it's probably better not to have a real tower in the play area unless you have a wireless setup?

Tested in another arcade, honestly couldn't see much difference with Elven Assassin PvP (and the tower in the middle of the playzone can be confusing to players - hiding behind it without putting your head inside the tower requires some spacial awareness in VR). But the more options is def the better, hope the price will be on par with other multiplayer games.
