Crisis VRigade is a virtual reality action filled first person shooter that lets players take on the role of a SWAT trooper and deal with a hostage situation in a bank robbery.
Duty calls! You’re put in the middle of the action. It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it. Together with a SWAT team you will have to deal with the situation and take care of the terrorists who are robbing the bank.
Your mission is crystal clear: finish off all hostile elements and keep your teammates and hostages alive. Make your way through the bank to the safe where the terrorist have made a stronghold and threaten to kill the hostages if their demands are not met.
Be aware of your ammunition and take cover while reloading your gun or you will be exposed and the mission over: maybe you see the bullet comming, maybe you didn’t,
but the terrorist got away and your partners now have the unpleasant task of giving the bad news to your nearest relative.
Everyone counts on you and your first-of-the-class aim. You got the highest rates at the academy, it’s time to prove it!

Yea it's definitely Hard but SOOOOO good. I loved Time Crisis as a kid. I didn't even attempt Hell mode!

HunterLaneSBVR They just released a 3 player co-op mode for the game on Steam the other day, but it’s not on the CDS version, can we get that soon?

That’s the problem with having a separate CDS version- since arcades are not a priority for a lot of devs we get the updates way later than home users. If I just bought this off of steam and started using it without paying for licensing I would have a more up to date version of the game with more features than an arcade that is paying for a legit license. Basically we are being penalized for doing the right thing which doesn’t exactly incentivize us as company owners relying on content to be successful to keep doing things above board. This has been a glaring issue since day 1 of CDS that has never been properly addressed by anyone, and we keep seeing it over and over again. Pistol Whip didnt get the first new song for weeks, Beat saber is constantly behind the home version in features and songs, some games have completely broken multiplayer. If devs are not going to commit to keeping their games up to date on CDS then they should be providing Steam keys so we can access the content.

A lot of times developers prefer providing a different version in Steam than they do arcades. This can ensure the stability of a build and that they are providing the best arcade experience possible.

We should be getting the Pistol Whip updates around the same time as Steam, shouldn’t be delayed by more than 24 hours from this point on. Cloudhead has put a TON of priority of arcades and have always wanted to ensure they are providing the best possible game to arcades.

Beat Saber is, unfortunately, a different monster altogether. Beat Saber Arcade is a completely different product altogether, and due to the FB acquisition, is now on that team to decide if/when they want to update the title.

HunterLaneSBVR those are just 2 specific examples of a deeply flawed system. Much of the time they are not updating the cds version not because of stability but because its extra work for developers to work on and update 2 separate versions of the games so many of these smaller teams focus on the consumer version and leave the cds version in the dust. Regardless of the reason, then end result is that there are numerous examples where the arcade version slips behind the retail version and we are left charging for an inferior product. That is a path to failure for LBEs.

gameovr Hey there, just to update you on Crisis VRigade, the developers said they definitely plan on updating it soon but are wanting to test it with real players to make sure no bugs pop-up before doing so.

Regarding updating being additional work, we’ve made sure that the process of updating a title is extremely easy for developers and can be done with a simple command-line tool. (There isn’t additional dev work required for them to upload/update really)

For any title that is behind the retail version, please let us know and we’ll gladly inquire with the developer to see what the delay/reason is for it not being updated.

@HunterLaneSBVR Thanks for the update Hunter. The point I was trying to convey is not that it is hard to upload their game onto cds but to develop a separate arcade version splits their resources and the arcade version tends to get left to rot or they just dont put through the update right away. Look at vacation sim. We all sent in a ton of feedback that their arcade version was terrible and they committed to fixing it…. About 8 months ago and not a word since. Back in October they added in languages and subtitle support for the steam version, did that ever make it to arcades?

@HunterLaneSBVR So it’s been 3 weeks since they added multiplayer on the consumer version and still no word on multiplayer for the arcade version? This is exactly what I was talking about in the earlier post. If we were using the steam version we could be offering this with multiplayer support but because we are stuck on CDS we are left in the dust. This happens again and again with almost every developer. Does Springboard have ANY plan to deal with this kind of thing? Yes the Dev has to update the game, but Springboard is the one that has forced them to update and maintain 2 separate versions of their game which creates this issue.

gameovr Their team chose to not update our version until they were sure there were no bugs or issues. I got word from them on Wednesday though that our version had been updated though so if your version is not updated, let me know as they may have pushed the update incorrectly.

@HunterLaneSBVR so how do we know the game is updated when we get no notification and there are no change logs? Should I load into every game on CDS every day to check to see if it has been updated?

I do have the update now, there’s an option on the left in the game’s lobby which says ‘Online’ so this is clearly a matchmaking system.
It’s great that we’ve got multiplayer now, but it grinds my gears that CDS games don’t have an invite system instead we have to rely on matchmaking which can be fiddly if there’s a lot of people playing or even if multiple groups in your arcade are trying to join up at the same time. It’s a step backwards from Steam games which can invite from the friends list.

thevrclub I agree random matchmaking is annoying. The whole point of coming to an arcade is to play with friends together lol. I appreciate the multiplayer addition I love the came mechanics.
