Wow... so am I the only one who was very strongly given the impression that the rate change was tied to getting the DLC songs that we have been being promised since March? Now we are 2 Music packs behind the consumer version and paying a higher rate for nothing. I was holding out hope, but after this... why on earth would I ever give these guys another cent of our money? Why on earth would I pay that price for a version of the game with about HALF the songs anybody else can get at home? Why would anobody come into our arcade and pay a premium price for a stripped down version of a 1 year old game that anybody can play on pretty much any headset at home now?
How many customers would come to a movie theatre and pay full price to watch a movie that is over a year old with half the footage cut from it? Does that sound like a winning business model to anyone? Everything that Beat Saber has done since day 1 is pretty much the exact opposite of what any developer should do to support the LBE space.
Also, their excuse is total BS, just so we are clear. They added the bonus songs on no problem, and the other dlcs are added in the EXACT same way. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on this, but I see it as a shameless cash grab and a slap to the face to all the arcades that have helped support and promote Beat Saber and expose hundreds of thousands of people around the world to their game. I'm done with those clowns. There are other fantastic devs out there that are much more deserving of our money and actually work with us to create BETTER versions of their game that help us succeed.
