Orientation Question of SpringboardVR

Just a quick question. When SpringboardVR comes up, I would like to have my clients facing a particular way. Unfortunately it changes constantly. Is there a quick way to change this back to the way that I want?

It’s always the same way for me, are you using Oculus headsets maybe, or perhaps your lighthouses aren’t syncing?

thevrclub We are using vive pro… everything syncs fine, just for whatever reason the orientation shifts 90 degrees. It is very weird.

Yeah, never experienced that. Ours face in the direction of the arrow from the room setup in SteamVR …. never had them randomly change direction.

I’ve HTC Vives and I wish I could get mine to change orientation. I don’t even know how to get it to move at the room setup level.

GGVR I do room setups occasionally when we have used a computer as a mobile unit and I always do the room setup the same way. One of the computers were oriented the right way at the start of the day and I just went to put it on a kid’s head and it was 90 degrees off. No clue why/how?

I just redid the room setup facing the vive pro in 180 degrees opposite directions each time. One time pulling the trigger to face the monitor and one facing the opposite way. No change. It is still 90 degrees turned from where I wanted and tomorrow it could be turned the other way.

This leads me to believe that the customers are doing SOMETHING or pushing something that accidentally swaps it.

I do use Adv Settings to give us more tuneability in the room setup. Plus it has a quick feature to redo the floor bottom - https://github.com/OpenVR-Advanced-Settings/OpenVR-AdvancedSettings … you simply have to exit Springboard and bring up the steamVR menu and there will be a new menu option at the bottom called ADV Settings … mainly did it because I had a tough time forcing the direction I wanted the room to face in Room Setup and this fixes all those issues for me. Scotthan There we go… that makes it a bit easier. I was doing the room setup and editing but you have to rotate the box and adjust the settings and it becomes quite a chore sometimes. This works.

Scotthan you can reset the floor while a game or springboard is running if you use the desktop mode of advanced settings (run ‘startdesktopmode.bat’ file found in the downloaded folder of advanced settings, put a shortcut on the desktop to find it quicker).

I’ve done this while customers are playing a game (ask them to put one controller on the floor) if they’re struggling to reach an object under the virtual ground.

thevrclub AWESOME! Thanks so much … yes, that’s the problem I have in some games like escape rooms, and snowball fight where the wall is just outside the handle they have to pull.
