The Burning Descent - Great PvP shooter, more content soon?

So I just added this game last night. I tested it out with a friend after we closed as it looked like a decent amount of fun. I like how quick and easy it is for a game to get started, but sadly there’s not a lot of variety to the content. Only one map for the multi-player and only a single level for the time trial. Do we know if the devs are working on more content?

One of the reasons I never made the jump to try Tower Tag was due to the lack of variety in maps (there might be many but they all look the same from what I can tell from gameplay videos and that’s what our customers will think after playing a few rounds in it). But if this Burning Descent ends up being popular, I might just download Tower Tag so that the two games are just “different maps” with such similar gameplay.

We tried it when it was first uploaded onto the CDS but couldn’t get into a multiplayer game so have uninstalled it…

@HunterLaneSBVR - can you confirm that the multiplayer function is working for this game and the steps to set one up. We tried when it was first on the CDS and couldn’t create a multiplayer game and haven’t tried since.

VR-ARRIVAL I haven’t had any issues, but it could be your firewall. When I first launched it on my stations, once in the game and we went to the quickmatch or even the server browser, that’s when the Window’s Firewall screen popped up. You will have to allow it access via that before you can do the online. Lots of other games do that and it’s something that I’ve gotten into the habit of looking for when I play a new game.

Thanks DigitalWorldsVR - felt sure I would have turned off the firewalls the first time around but they came up when I tried again and it worked fine setting up a server after turning off the firewalls.

Hi, the version available is a “light” version of the game. It has been developed exclusively for an arcade venue in my city. They have an 8 players version with team death match and more maps. I don’t know their plans but I’m pretty sure they will keep for themselves and their potential franchises the version of the game with all functionalities. The game is pretty good if you can use the full version. Unfortunately, with the version available on SBVR, it’s better to use Tower Tag.

Le_Nautilus_Grenoble Hey there! I’ve chatted quite a bit with these developers and I’m not aware of this being a “lite” version.

From my understanding, they have every intention of adding maps and content but I’ll make sure to check with them!

HunterLaneSBVR Oh yeah, that would be a bummer if we’re only going to have the single map. With Raw Data dropped down from $0.08 to $0.06 and Front Defense Heroes at $0.04 it’s a hard pill to swallow for $0.08 and only a single map. I’ll revisit Tower Tag but it might be in their best interest to be more competitive with the giant that is Tower Tag since price might be the only thing that gives them an edge compared to TT.

It is mentionned “La version de The Burning Descent SPRINGBOARDVR est volontairement limitée à 4 joueurs.” which means: “The Burning Descent version on Springboard is deliberately limited to 4 players”.

Also, Front Defense Heroes has bots… BOTS!!! It’s something that every multiplayer VR game should have.

Yeah I don’t like the idea of paying 8 cents a minute which is a pretty premium price point for a deliberately stripped-down version of the game with less players and less maps/game modes. Could you imagine if Survious released Battlewake as only a 2 player game on Springboard but had the 4 and 10 player modes only at THEIR arcades?

gameovr Hey there. There are already plans to add more time attacks and an additional 4 player map! And we’re definitely going to see about getting the 8 player version as well. (I’m pretty sure the only difference currently is the 4/8 player difference that is at that one location)

I’ve been chatting with them though about the positive reception so hoping we can get that 8 player version added too!
