Hey everyone Hunter here with our weekly content update.
This week we want to take some time to show you all one of our newest additions to the platform and one we’re beyond excited for, Tower Tag.
This title is probably one of, if not the best multiplayer experience available in VR.
So without further ado, here are a few tips and tricks for playing Tower Tag and its different game modes, Team Deathmatch and Goal Tower.
If this is your first time hearing about Tower Tag, make sure to check out some of our other videos highlighting this amazing competitive player vs. player experience and how to set it up.
In this video, our developer Jamie and I are doing a little 1v1 Deathmatch.
Tower Tag is an “easy learn, difficult to master game” because it’s definitely more than just an arena shooter. You have to strategically capture and move from platform to platform to both get better positioning for yourself and to prevent your opponents from gaining position.
Each platform has a tower in the center and barricades that can be used for cover. (Fair warning, the barricades on the outside of the platform can be destroyed!)
As you can see here I got a bit of a head start on Jamie but he quickly turned things around by pushing control of the tower and pigeon-holing me into bad spots around the map. Instead of trying to beat me in a shootout, he used his positioning to get the upper hand.
Tower Tag’s second game mode, Goal Tower, plays out quite a bit differently than Team Deathmatch but might be my favorite out of the two.
The objective of Goal Tower is not to rack up as many kills as possible but instead, teammates must work together to take control of a specific enemy tower to get points.
The map we played had numerous routes for getting to the objective tower so you have to manage both pushing the enemy tower, while also defending your own.
Tower Tag's simple mechanics, but surprisingly deep strategy make it one of, if not the best competitive VR experience out there today so definitely check it out today and it to your stations if you haven’t already!
