Test Last Day Defense for free!

Hello!

We recently onboarded ARVI VR's title “The Last Day Defense” and the developers wanted operators to know that for testing purposes, you can use the free home version from VIVEPORT or OCULUS stores.

In the commercial SpringBoard version, all levels are unlocked and primarily open to play.

I also had a very unexpected immersion moment where I was on a level with geysers and panned over top of the billow of steam and in my mind I literally smelled the steam. It was so convincing my stupid brain invented a smell that didn't exist. Blew me away.”

"WOW!! OK.. Picture having a highly detailed, well painted and animated, paper world! On top of that, the little army that marches thru it or flies over it, have some pretty awesome weapons, that you can track!! Rockets, bombs, mortars, tracer rounds.. you lob them they lob them..before you know it little animated plumes of dirt, smoke and fire are going off everywhere!

I lost a game because I was more interested in seeing the little mobile rocket launcher lift it's rocket pods and let loose a hail of rockets on my turret! It was so freaking cool! UP they went with fine whisps of white smoke, hit terminal altitude, arced and Im assuming fired secondary rockets because I watched as the trailing black smoke followed the tiny rockets to their target. This game is pure enjoyment!! On normal, the player progression and the enemy skill and armor are very well matched. GET THIS GAME!!!!”

One of my friends/customers played this game just last night! He thoroughly enjoyed it but was asking me some questions about the game which were above my head. Seems like there is a little bit of a learning curve (aka tutorial needed) but once complete its fun.

My buddy was curious about the graphics. I'm worried my PC isn't as tip top as I was originally thinking. Are there any graphics/performance enhancers which could be pulled from Springboard or am I doomed to researching on my own to learn how to enhance my PC's?

Glad to hear they liked it! It starts out pretty simple but definitely ramps up the difficulty!

Also, what is your current PC specs?

Definitely looks like you meet the minimum requirements! Any other titles give you issues?

Not that I am aware...but my curiosity is whether or not I need to get better hardware or if there is something else I could do to make the graphics look better?

Curious if anyone else's patrons have played this game and had any crashing issues. At times the game will just boot a player back to a "limbo" area where they are not quite back at the launcher but they are definitely not in the game. I have to manually restart the launcher to get them back into the game but their progress is definitely lost.

Been a bummer since one guy has come in specifically to play this game for close to 10 hours now...not looking to lose this guy so any help is much appreciated.

How often is it crashing on you?

It was only crashing during the startup...I've determined my RAM is bare minimum when much is happening on screen. One of the levels in particular gets pretty insane with explosions and when the player leaned in to get a closer look the game crashed.

Recently I streamed Beat Saber and experienced a similar lag in game play which is why I'm thinking it is my RAM. 8gb works for standard play but I was pushing it via stream (green screen too)

Once the player and I understood the boot up problem, we have not had any crashes again. Anyone who jumps in the game now I have to let them know to stay still and not move their head around until the game has completely booted up otherwise the risk of crashing increases.

I tried The Last Day Defense last night and same issue for me at start-up with it flashing between the launcher and the game for the first ~30 sec - was quite naussiating to be honest. I am running much high computer specs (RTX2080; i7-8700; 16GB RAM) than @Santino so not sure that it is a computer hardware issue. Once I was in, it was fine but not sure how many people will get to that point if it happens on start-up each time (I will just end up taking it off, which is a shame as it can be quite addictive - my 1/2hr trial of it went very quickly!).
