Request for Easy Changing of What Games are Available

Hi All,

I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone is aware of a request in the Springboard Feature Requests (I can't find one, but there is a lot in there). If there isn't a current request I will set one up.

What I would like is the ability to change what games are available to a station session to session. This could be used for a multitude of purposes. For example a themed children's birthday party, meaning only a selection of 6 games are available and then afterwards could flip back to the whole library. At Halloween doing themed sessions just for Halloween, but being able to flip back if people don't want to have a themed session. Corporate groups where the company only wants particular software available to their team. This would enable you to market to a particular group of people or for a particular event without having to completely change your library each time you're switching back and forth.

Does this seem like something anyone else would find useful to use?

This is definitely an issue we've talked and thought about a LOT over the last few months!

We've been brainstorming the best way to implement something like this so we would love to hear feedback on how people think this would work best for their businesses. If it's having "Loadouts" of Games on a Per Experience basis you can swap between, or master Game lists available across all Experiences/Locations, or changing up the Library to be per Location etc. etc.

Lot's of options out there and would love to hear if there is anything in particular people think would be a good fit for their needs!

We do mobile rentals, and need to vary titles/experiences on a per-event basis, which right now means a lot of enabling/disabling tiles. I would LOVE a "loadout" menu/playlist feature that I can preconfigure and select on the fly for an individual station.

This would be excellent for little kid parties where we don't want to teach them how to navigate around to find the few games that they will be doing in a session.

A request for this was put in about a year ago when the community page was first put up. I am anxiously waiting the arrival of this feature.

Wow! Fab response! @willstackable @matthew I imagine it to be an option like changing the age on the station. There would be a place somewhere to create a playlist (for want of a better word) of a particular set of games. Then somewhere you can select from a dropdown the playlist or no playlist for a station. It would also be great if you could set multiple stations at once, to be honest it would also be useful to be able to do that with ages as well.

Ok so in the space on Monitor in between the date/time and reservation buttons there could be something like:

Where the Station dropdown is a list of your stations with checkboxes next to it, so you could select which stations to apply changes to. Then select the Age from the dropdown and/or the Playlist from that dropdown and hit an Apply/Save button to apply the changes.

Kate, That's a perfect idea. I'm just starting my arcade and I thought it was already a feature. I've been playing around with "working around it" by using the age restrictions. I'm with you that it would be nice to assign the age to multiple stations at once instead of clicking on each one.

I like your idea of a "playlist" ... I'd call it a "profile" or "game profile" ... just an object that can store the list of games that would be assigned to stations or GROUPS of stations in real time through the monitor, or assigned in the reservation system, or assigned to the stations in the Content tab of the stations (instead of the current option of assigning everything in the library or individually picking the titles)

So really 2 use cases .... the first in pre-planning - parties, groups, reservations, etc. The second being REAL TIME. If a parent says "Whoa, no, no shooters for my little Johnny" ... I can have Profiles that I can change in REAL TIME from the Monitor app, just like we do now with age restrictions, and the Launcher changes while Little Johnny is still in the headset.

Yes, I remember an request being put in a while ago in the feature requests.

We would love this feature! This is one feature we enjoyed when testing out Synthesis VR.

As Kate mentioned above, having a playlist/loadout dropdown is a good idea. It would also be great to have an option to offer a loadout as an option in the online booking for those that use a standard/premium model.

Been waiting on this forever. We ended up having to use the age limits to achieve it in some form. Messy solution though

Is there any plan to do this any time soon?

I'm always thinking of ways we can improve or how we can do certain events or offers, and I keep coming back to this being the obstacle each time.

Hey @KatePlayItVR! This feature is definitely on our radar and it’s something we are exploring and open to. Every quarter we plan out the next 3 months in advanced. This feature is on the list to review and discuss if and when we would do it. We will keep you updated on the status! @MichelleNehrenz I have given some suggestions and thoughts further up in this thread. I had wondered with the batch launch going live, if this was going to be tagged on to that with game loadout lists in a drop down that can be selected in the batch launch screen. This would come from a new page where games can be selected and saved in different loadouts.

Please, please could we have an update as to when this might be planned. Not having this feature is killing so many of my ideas of fun things to do in the arcade for customers!

I know we're all different - this is easily my number 1 request for Springboard! There are other things that you can implement workarounds for, but this really doesn't have any easy way of making it clean for the customer.

Hey Kate, we have discussed Game Loadouts and are aware of the challenges. Unfortunately we are not able to fit this feature request into our tight Q4 roadmap. I know it's probably not the news you were hoping to hear but we will continue to push for it moving forward and keep you updated if and when we are able to build this out. Thanks!
