Hey everyone, hope you're doing well.

Hunter Lane with the content team here wanting to ask you all's opinion on this one!

Squanch's new title Trover Saves the Universe! is coming out soon but the one special thing about this one is that it requires a gamepad to play.

Note that this title DOES have a censored version!

Would you use Trover Saves the Universe! (Rick and Morty creator's new title) if it requires a $20 gamepad / controller?

I am thinking we could have a community pool for controller so if you had like ten stations you only need 6, and you get them for games that require it. Would like to see a warning on the game to request a game pad for the player

Normally I’d say no to a gamepad, but I really want that game! :slight_smile:

I said no, not because of the cost of having to buy the controllers, but because of the complications that having non-tracked gamepads and customers having to switch to them when they click on the game in the list of games. They don't know it's a game that requires it, so they'd click on it wanting to try it out like every other game on the list that they have no clue what it is, and then they'd be confused as to why they can't do anything and they're stuck at the menu with no buttons working. Maybe if we had a lot of titles that are gamepad only and I dedicated one or a few stations to "gamepad only VR experiences" but for me sitting in a chair using a gamepad isn't what VR is all about.

I think buying a game controller for a specific game in VR would be ok if there were others that we needed a game controller for. Tho $2500 computers with $1`700 headsets set up's then add a controller is seems like $ adding up fast lol.

I just realised the game is also available for non-VR pancake gamers, which further devalues it for arcades.

So while I'll probably buy and play it for myself in VR, I'd change my vote on this poll to a 'no' if I could

I've seen some gameplay of this game and it does sound great, any game with Justin Roiland probably is super fun.. However I'm having a hard time understanding why the choice was made not to have "VR Controlers" support... With Rick & Morty VR being so great, they should've known better :(

@Jules-InouiVR It's controller only so that non-VR gamers can play, lowest common denominator. Plus these guys didn't actually make Virtual Rickality, that was Owlchemy Labs. I'd say we're better off with offering Accounting+ through Steam for now

Voted no because it's just lazy to not add motion controller support for VR and I don't want to encourage that type of behavior.
