VR Operator Content Licensing Updates

Hey @Mark Not all of your titles will be likely available to migrate right away. There are still Content Creators who haven't uploaded their titles to our servers so not all the titles on our platform are ready to be migrated immediately.

When you migrate a title you will need to go into your Steam accounts and uninstall the title so that you can download the version from us. You can read about how to migrate a title here. There will also be instructions on the title page for how to migrate it over.

Hey @VRadelaide! You do not have to immediately migrate your titles. We know it will take time to uninstall and reinstall content so we are not removing the current system of launching titles via Steam for a while. I'm not 100% sure what the timeline is for when you need to have your content migrated over but you will have plenty of time to get it done. It's not something that has to be done within a week or anything like that.

Hey @VR-ARRIVAL! Titles that are uploaded to our system do not have launch arguments available to edit. They will with coming updates but for now beta codes, or other arcade-specific activation of a title is not needed for any title that is on our one-click title system! If a title is uploaded and ready to be migrated it is up to the Content Creator to decide which build (or mode) he uploads to our platform.

Hi @MichelleNehrenz . Thanks for the information on the launch arguments in the new content launcher. Can you give a rough timeframe on when this will be addressed in the coming updates? We have a few popular games (eg. Arizona Sunshine and VRZ Torment) that we use launch arguments for to make it either a lot easier to get into the game or to make the gameplay a lot easier. I would rather wait until this is included in the updates before migrating all of the games across to be honest as it reduces hassles immensely when customers play these games. Is there a way that we can copy configuration files across in the migration (or edit them post-migration)? Thanks, Andrew

Hi, we are trying to install "Super Hot arcade" but it is only working on 2 stations out of 6. The headset goes idle for 10 minutes and nothing is happening, we even tried to close SteamVR but still nothing. We tried on another game (Racket NX) and it is the same. Is there any hardware incompatibility?

We are having the same issue. The install of Racket NX worked on most stations, but 3 stations are still stuck on install pending, despite the stations going idle, restarting steam vr, springboard, and the entire system multiple times... I really don't want to try any other games for the moment in fear that half of my library will be at the mercy of "install pending". Perhaps in an update we could have more control of the installs with options such as drive location, and manual installation initiation. This is a critical issue in that games we advertise as playable are suddenly not.

Currently idle videos are being reuploaded. Once that's done they will work again.

Regarding the installs, it looks like your installs and pending on the other stations. Can you try restarting the SpringboardVR background service to see if it will install content after doing so? If not please send in a ticket to support@springboardvr.com and we'll look into it!

With this new one-click download and install feature, it would be helpful if the download size was specified and we had the ability to point to where the download is going. I was expecting it to download onto my main drive where all my VR content is, but it went to a secondary drive that was connected to my computer.

I am a bit concerned with the migration. We mainly use the Steam Site License program as well as Springboard. Will I still be able to use steam alongside Springboard or is this going to force me to one site or the other?

Hey @vrhead, providing the download size is something we are looking into adding for future releases! Unfortunately right now there is not an option to customize where the files install but I will bring that up with our developers.

@nizfoo We have pushed out a lot of updates over the past 2 days that have resolved most issues. If you are still having problems please contact support@springboardvr.com so we can make sure they get sorted for you.

@VRCPA You will still be able to use your licenses through Steam Site Licensing! This is mainly just a switch for the titles that are on our platform and working on providing them without having to deal with the hassle of Steam keys.

@VR-ARRIVAL As far as when it will be added in, I don't have any time frame at the moment. Most developers make sure configuration files work, even on CDS. We're working on ways to directly get settings, configurations and options entered by content creators so this will be even better for you in the future!

Hi Michelle. Thanks for the information but am not sure it helps in the short term. My understanding is that for any launch arguments or configuration file changes or beta versions that we currently used through Steam, that these will not be applied in SpringboardVR's content manager when the games are ported over (correct me if I am wrong here)? As mentioned, these are all used to either make getting into games easier or make gameplay easier once they are in. If these aren't available, that makes running the arcade a lot harder so I don't want to make the transition across until these can be incorporated. Having said that, we have been told we have to move across sooner rather than later so would really like some more concrete information of when we can customise the games so they are the same as they are now.
