Hi guys I noticed a new update for the monitor dropped recently, just want to offer some feedback.

I like the nice clean layout, however some of the small fonts, like for the timer and the session length (on shorter sessions), are hard to read.

Also the blue tag is very similar looking to the teal tag (in the top-left of the sessions) and hard to distinguish.

I've noticed a bug (or maybe it's a feature), click on a booking and going 'edit reservation' to change the start time to 'now' doesn't start the session automatically. Is this intentional? I used to use this trick a lot when I needed to change a session time when a customer is ready to start playing. Update: I noticed it still starts the timer straight away when creating a new booking (as in, not editing an existing booking). Having different actions as a result of the same button is too confusing... Please make it consistent.

Also, I can't figure out the purpose of the 'check in' button, can someone explain it please?

Thank you for the kind words! Marie and I worked very hard to make the monitor a lot simpler to use the last few weeks.

I'll answer your questions in bullet-points:

The font sizes change to a smaller version on any session under 30 minutes. This is because there's a lot of information to convey in a smaller space. That being said, we're constantly making tweaks and I'll make a note of this feedback! As for the colours— are you referring to the teal indicating a currently playing session and the blue indicating a new session? If that's the case I'll take a look with our designer @marielamouret and see if we can come up with a better method of indicating those states. The bug you mentioned is indeed a bug! I've put it on my to-do list and I'll make sure to get it fixed ASAP. Thanks for the report! The 'check in' feature a way to indicate a party has arrived but isn't ready to begin playing. Here's an example of where that might be useful... One employee welcomes 2 people out of a 5 person party, that employee uses the 'check in' function to mark that the party has arrived and then whisks the 2 away to sign waivers/get familiar with the VR equipment. Next, the 3 others in the party arrive and a different employees greets them, this employee sees that the party has been checked in and can escort the guests to the two that have already arrived. From there you can start the timer when you see fit.

Thanks for the detailed reply Jamie. Yeah I can understand the reasoning behind those decisions now, thanks! Though I don't think the check-in button will be useful for me since I'm in such a small (5 station) arcade.

My staff have asked for the grey to come back on the left panel as they prefer that to the white. I have to say I agree with them as it makes it a lot easier to differentiate the parts. I dont think it looks much cleaner really, and I also think you guys should consider that you may be designing on high quality monitors, but in most arcades I would suspect the users on lower quality/cheaper ones or tablets maybe. If you could maybe allow users to adjust some of these that would remove the need to create a divided user base on what people like and dont on the colours and shading, whilst still maybe keeping some control. Powerpoint does a great job with colour schemes in their templates for example. I appreciate you are not Microsoft too though :) .

I've noticed that on iPads it seems impossible to select the "Save" button when you go in to edit a reservation (accessed by clicking "Edit Reservation"). The "Save" button is missing from the bottom panel that has the date time, number of players, and reservation name.

Am I missing something here or is the save button just getting pushed off the screen?

Hey Eric,

We test primarily on iPads and Windows machines as this is what most of our customers are using. I've just now tried on a standard iPad air and cannot seem to recreate what you're experiencing. Go ahead and contact support at support@springboardvr.com and they will give you the most prompt and proper help to figure out the issue

I've also sent this to support@springboardvr.com but thought I'd post it here in case it's happening to anyone else is having the same issue.

Not sure if this is a new feature but we have always clicked on "walk in" on the station panel and then hit create which would automatically start the session playing, but today I noticed that doesn't start the session anymore, we now need to do that, then click on the session block, click check in, then click start to get them playing, this is a lot more steps than we used to do, it's not a huge deal but it's a little thing that adds up to a lot of extra time as we do it for every single session/booth, I've had a look through the settings but can't find any way to fix it. Any easy way to fix this?

Just re-read the first post and looks like I have to click the button to start the session "Now" which i didn't have to before, is there a way to start now by default?

This should be fixed now! The session will start automatically.
