We have had 1 in our arcade for over a year now. Initially we were planning on having all Vives but there was one room in our arcade that was just seeing too much interference from the base stations in the other rooms and the only other option was adding in a ton of curtains that looked terrible and closed in our arcade too much so we thought we would give it a try. After a year of use here is our experience with it:
We are still using the original cord out of the box where all of our Vives have had their cord fail 5-10 times.
tracking with the third sensor works just as well as the Vive. It is more difficult and time consuming to initially set up the boundaries but once it is all in place it doesnt ever have to be redone.
There is a couple games that have cross platform multiplayer issues, but all of our most popular multiplayer games have seamless cross platform support.
The controllers eat through their single AA batteries fairly quick when being used all day, but the controllers themselves still work perfectly.
The cable does not reach as far due to lack of link box and having everything directly plugged into the computer, but we are using a vive link box to extend the cable further into the room
The Oculus home button is the bane of my existence. Please Springboard fix this again!
All in all I'm glad we added it. I see it as a completely viable alternative to a Vive, especially if you are seeing tracking issues due to your arcades layout.
