Resetting game progress? [Solved]

I was wondering if anyone had tips on resetting a games progress (ex. Super Hot). Most customers are first time VR players and they've played Super Hot on consoles or they just like the idea of it, but upon launch of the game they are launched into a part of the game they can't complete. Anyone have ideas or methods they use for this? (this could also pertain to other games as well) Thank you

When you launch superhot, in the game, have the guest put the disk that says "superhot" (with the head outline) into the computer. Using this disk will let the guest choose which level to play.

you can do that with the disk or there is a reset disk i believe as well. what we do is my partner found a batch file online that we run when we open each day and after someone plays., and it automatically resets the user data for super hot. quick and simple. pretty nice and each person gets to start at the very beginning.

I wrote a batch file....... Open Notepad.... I named ours.... "Reset_Super_Hot.Bat" Then Type...... del "C:\Users\spect\AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR\VRsuper.hot"

we have it on all the desktops and run it after any one plays.

Hey @DaveM! I am awful with this kind of stuff, so since you seem to know something about it I was wondering. Would if be possible to set up a batch file that would delete that save file and then replace it with one that we have saved elsewhere on the hard drive that has the entire game beaten. We have people come in all the time and pop in that stupid "Reset Game" disk and then don't understand why they can't get to the screen where they get to select the level they want.I'd prefer to always have it set up to select the level instead of having everyone start at the beginning.

Sorry I just realized that I wrote our path down.. where I wrote spect you need to change that to your username. it will then work for you.

I have found a couple of ways to reset Superhot. The first is to delete the super.hot file that Hunter has shown after anyone plays. The second is to beat the game on one station and use that super.hot file and transfer it to the other stations. Once that is done, when you start the game, you start in the small room with the computers and disks on the desk. The monitor on the far right of the desk has a disk on top of it, this is the reset disk and will reset it to the very beginning.

Is the actual file that has the save data the VRsuper.hot file? I may just beat it one day and copy that file to Google Drive so that all the PCs we have can keep downloading it in case someone does the reset floppy option in-game.

That sounds right. Sorry, its been a while since I set it up. Once it is on all of your stations, if one is deleted, you can get it from another station. Also gives you the option to start where someone left off or reset.

I did catch that, but is there another command that can be entered into the batch file to insert a different save file after "VRsuper.hot" has been deleted?

Here is a batch file if you want to have the game completed...

You will need Super Hot to be Completed… “entire game beaten” At least on one station. You can copy the file you’re going to make and put it on all stations.

First open a folder, Any folder and at the top choose the “VIEW” tab Place a checkmark in the boxes beside “File name extensions” and “Hidden items” You only need to do this on the computer that you are copying step 6 from. Create a folder on your desktop named Super_Hot Navigate to “C:\Users\”you’re user name” \AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR” Example: This is Ours: C:\Users\spect\AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR In that folder, copy “VRsuper.hot” file and paste it into the folder that you just created in step 3 In the Super Hot folder that you created in step 3… Right click and hover over “NEW” Choose “Text Document” and name it Completed Or whatever you choose. “.bat” Example: Completed.bat Write: del “C:\Users\You’re user name\AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR\VRsuper.hot” Example: del “C:\Users\spect\AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR\VRsuper.hot” Hit enter Then Write xcopy "C:\Users\You’re user name\Desktop\Super_Hot\VRsuper.hot" "C:\Users\You’re user name\AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR" Example: xcopy "C:\Users\spect\Desktop\Super_Hot\VRsuper.hot" "C:\Users\spect\AppData\LocalLow\SUPERHOT_Team\SUPERHOT_VR" Copy the folder from step 3 on a flash drive or however you choose to move it to your other stations and place it on their Desktops.
