Springboard made a great job on improving stability in the last year-two, almost no need to contact the support. But lately, we started to experience a couple of issues that are becoming a big problem for smooth operations.
Problem 1
After clicking “Switch Game”, the Launcher Game Manue loads on the main screen as usual, but in the headset, it gives just a black screen. It happens across all our stations (including on freshly reinstalled Windows and all the games), randomly. The only fix on the go is to restart SteamVR. Quitting SB and starting it again does not do anything. Cleaning the cache did not give results. Of course, it is time-consuming (happens once per one-hour session so far) and disruptive for customers.
Problem 2
After starting SteamVR, when the Launcher loads, the games not always appear in the lobby, just an empty SB environment. It seems the SB background service is not running as when clicking on the system tray, the SB icon is not even there, but it gets fixed by restarting SB from the desktop icon. Initially, we were suggested by the support that it might happen because we occasionally used the remote launch of the lobby without starting SteamVR first from the PC. But in the last weeks, we only launched SteamVR from the steam app, but the issue is still here. Again, it is disruptive for customers as we usually find out about the problem when someone already wearing the headset and it takes time for the whole loop to restart.
Thank you for looking into the problems and hopefully, it gets resolved soon.
