This community has been quite dead for the last few months with good reason. We are still here trying to keep our businesses afloat during this pandemic, and I, for one, would like to hear from different business owners worldwide. We are quite lucky only to be hitting the starting stages of the 2nd wave now in eastern Canada, and honestly, Covid gave me the time (during the initial shut down) to revise my business and make it much more viable. I spent over 300 hours in online Zoom courses, including marketing and sales, financial planning, customer retention etc. We’ve doubled our sales consistently compared to last year but incurred much more costs to do so and because of Covid. So we on our way. If we can stick it out another half a year, we will come out of this okay.

Nearbyplanetvr wait, what?! … is that another person in here?! …. OMG! :-) …. we’re doing alright because we’re in a smaller town in East Texas. Texas will probably be the last to shutdown because of the politics of this state, which I won’t discuss :-)

I’d be interested to hear which courses you took, and which you thought were the most valuable. I’ve struggled with marketing, but now I’m just hitting the streets and letting people know we are here. Sometimes I even hang out near the Oculus sales area in my local Walmart and strike up conversations. Birthday parties are still the biggest bang and most influential in word of mouth. I try to provide the best service and experience and it has translated in a pipeline of parties from all the friends that attended wanting to have their parties at our place too.

Before COVID we did a lot of tournaments and that brought in quite a few people, but I don’t want to risk being to new infection zone by having that many people again.

Looks like its just us Scotthan. How has it been since November? We are starting to come out the other end here 🙂 I feel like it will be a pretty good summer.

We have been open for a total of 2 of the last 12 months so it hasn’t been an ideal year. It’s too bad the community here has faded away so much.

We’ve been doing ok I am almost embarrassed to say… We have been very lucky here in Perth, Australia. We have been closed around 3 month over the last year but on the whole we have had almost zero community spread of covid because we went into a hard board lockdown for most of last year. 3 Months still hurt us financially as we were just getting on our feet when it hit but my heart does go out to most of the other arcades which have struggled with so much more…

Omg! People! We’re alive! …. well, it’s nice to see some updates since the new team took over. Hopefully more can be implemented quickly.

Personally we’ve pivoted to doing more events and I really need a way to quickly change game content on stations for Moon night, art night, Travel night, etc …. it’s a pain to manage from that aspect right now.

I’ve been checking in here semi-regularly too, but there hasn’t been much point to writing much lately.
Now that Springboard is coming back to life hopefully we’ll see some more activity.

I’ve only just opened my arcade again (in a new location), 6 weeks ago so I’m getting back up to speed myself. Looking at adding a couple free roam experiences on weekdays very soon (with regular stations on weekends) so hopefully there a way to manage this in Springboard even as a temporary workaround
