After months of being closed and not having access to the computers, I decided to update them to the latest Windows 10 Version 2004. Unfortunately this seems to now have compatibility issues with SteamVR. Whenever SteamVR is launched, it causes my monitor’s audio device to be completely removed instead of the usual switching. This prevents me from mirroring audio to my monitors. Even after SteamVR is closed, the monitor’s audio is not restored and requires a full reboot. Anyone have any advice on how to fix this? Should I avoid Windows updates in the future? I have my monitors connected through hdmi and the headsets connected through displayport.
