The VAL/Virtualities team has seen considerable success in running tournaments and said events like these can even help generate repeat customers.
Ryan Burningham is the CEO and one of the Co-Founders of VAL (Virtual Athletics League) and Virtualities, a VR Arcade in Salt Lake City. Burningham has extensive experience in running tournaments and competitions.
“For us at our second location tournaments and associated purchases started to account for around 10% of our total revenue which was fantastic for us as VR arcade owners,” Burningham said. “Typically our return customer rate was around 17%-25% depending on the month, but we noticed that those who participated in a tournament had return rates of over 50%.”
Previously, Burningham wrote an article for the 2018 Beat Saber competition which has even more best practices for arcades wanting to participate. Click here for the full story!
The Pistol Whip Tournament is gearing up to be quite the event so make sure you register before March 18th!
