I’ve played it for about eight hours and can safely say I would not offer it in its current state. Controls are far too complex for my average customer and the mechanics with keeping your stamina/max stamina and health/max health in addition to crafting and weapon durability… these are all far too complex for customers. As an experienced VR player, even I do not find the game to be all that easy and every time I go out to an area I easily feel like I could just get wrecked, die, and lose all the stuff I spent the last three runs to work up to. Also, the way the save system and how long it takes to really get into the game, just not a good match for arcades.
Now if they release an arcade specific version that has a player start with X number of melee weapons, X ranged weapons, they’re all indestructible, near endless stamina that would have to be spammed like crazy to ever run out, and health were to regenerate over time as well as just be generally much higher than it is by default, then I would offer this game in a heartbeat.
There is the TWD game from Survios coming out later this year and since we’ve gotten their games then we’ll likely get there version of TWD with a decent arcade friendly mode. And also luckily, customers that have seen Saints & Sinners probably won’t notice any difference in them. So when they come in asking for a TWD game that they saw on Twitch/YouTube, we’ll just get them into the Survios one.
